Lahore Qalandars hard-hitting batsman Chris Lynn has been ruled out of the third edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Wednesday.

The news comes as a major blow for the Qalandars’ hopes of an improved showing in the upcoming edition after finishing the first two campaigns in the last place of the league table.

Cricket Australia confirmed in a statement that the 27-year-old will return to Brisbane and is expected to regain fitness before the start of the Indian Premier League.

“Australia's Chris Lynn will return to Brisbane for further medical assessment after he suffered yet another shoulder injury in Auckland on Wednesday night,” said Cricket Australia in a statement. “The hard-hitting right-hander has been ruled out of the upcoming Pakistan Super League, but is still hopeful of playing in the Indian Premier League later this year.”
