Mahira Khan defends Javed Sheikh, amid LSA 2018 kissing controversy

An awkward moment was caught on camera as the Raees starlet came on stage to receive her award from him

The 17th Lux Style Awards proved to be a star-studded night, full of the glitz and glamour of Lahore.

Fortunately, the entire event pretty much had a smooth sailing until Mahira Khan was awarded Best Actress for her 2017 hit Verna. She was presented the award by fellow actors Mawra Hocane and Javed Sheikh.

But there was an awkward moment Mahira and Javed that got caught on camera, as the Raees starlet came on stage to receive the tropghy. And it spread on the internet like wildfire!

It was tweeted, "Pakistani actress Mahira Khan quite literally turns the other cheek as actor Javed Sheikh tries to kiss her on the cheek at the Lux Style Awards."

But Mahira has just given her stance on the matter, calling out everyone who made the mere mishap, the talk of the town.

"I have just woken up to such silly stuff floating around," tweeted the Humsafar star.

She went on to defend the Na Maloom Afraad actor. "It’s good to be aware and have an opinion but for God's sake, don’t use anything and everything to make news. Javed Sheikh of all people! He is a legend and a mentor to all of us in this industry. Would vouch for him always."

We can not agree with her more!
