Vocational education: University of Skills on the cards in Balochistan

Speaker thanks Taleem Foundation for shaping education structure

QUETTA: A delegation of Taleem Foundation has sought Balochistan Assembly Speaker Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani’s support for setting up a University of Skills in Balochistan.

Taaleem Foundation Chairman Dr Zafar Qadir called on the speaker in her chamber on Monday. He was accompanied by former senior MBR Sarwar Javed and Humayun Sabir.

The delegation also briefed the speaker on the development activities of Taaleem Foundation in Balochistan where the foundation is operating eight grammar schools in tribal districts, including Kohlu, Zhob, Loralai, Killa Saifullah, Pishin, Mastung and Dera Bugti.

The delegation mentioned that the foundation had also established a private campus of Virtual University of Pakistan in Sui, in addition to a high quality School of Skills as well as a Vocational and Technical Institute in the tribal district of Dera Bugti.

Durrani appreciated the efforts of Taaleem Foundation with respect to quality of schooling.

The speaker emphasised the need to develop young human resource of Balochistan and conveyed her full support for such innovative and creative interventions in the province.

She thanked the delegation for visiting her and seeking her support for the entrepreneurial growth of the Balochistani youth.

The speaker appreciated Qadir’s efforts in shaping the education structure of Balochistan and setting new standards of service delivery.

Qadir is a retired bureaucrat, who worked in Balochistan for 16 years in civil service. He worked as DC, Commissioner and provincial secretary in the province. He is a known philanthropist, who established a high quality grammar school in every district that he served in. He looks after this organisation with passion and commitment.
