Taking centre stage: Play - ART comes to Lahore tomorrow

All-female cast featured in Tony Award winning play

LAHORE: Lahore Amateur Theatre Zealots (LATZ) in collaboration with Alliance Française Lahore will present the Tony Award winning play ART by Yasmina Reza at the Alhamra Art Centre on February 19 and 20.

The play boasts an all-female cast, including Zainab Ahmed, Mariam Saleem Nawaz and Iman Shahid. The story which revolves around friendship and its challenges has been entertaining audiences around the world since 1994.

ART is directed by Tughral A T Ali and produced by LATZ founder Huma Ijaz Zaman. The play was performed in Karachi at the Karachi Literary Festival on February 10 and 11, and is being performed in Islamabad on February 17.

“It is the brainchild of a passionate group of theater veterans. It is the fourth theatre production by LATZ this year. We hope you enjoy this crisp comedy in a theatrical masterpiece that questions human nature, the value of art, and the nature of our friendships,” said the director.

The Tony Award-winning play was written by French playwright Yasmina Reza has been performed to critical acclaim in several countries and in several languages signifying its timeless appeal.
