The two-day event, in which over 150 local and multinational food companies are exhibiting their products, is organised by the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) with an aim to create awareness among public about hygiene, safe and healthy food.
Beating many restaurants, Lakhpat Jail wins PFA’s praise
In addition to the exhibition, a makeshift food court, which has dozens of food stalls, are attracting food lovers. Most of these food stalls are selling delicious food items at a discounted price while a flat 25% discount is being offered to senior citizens and students. The festival has free entry for all.
The provincial food watchdog has also set up special counters where authority's nutritionists are advising visitors about their diet plan and giving health tips.
Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and PFA Director General Noorul Amin Mengal jointly inaugurated the event.
