LOS ANGELES: John Travolta called her the “most delicious” thing to come out of Italy and Roberto Benigni serenaded her with the Neapolitan song “O Sole Mio”.

Hollywood honoured Sophia Loren on May 4, 50 years after she became the first person to win an Oscar for a foreign-language role.
