Temperatures in different parts of the country dropped due to rain and snowfall on Sunday morning, Express News reported.

The weather in Karachi also turned a bit chilly as the metropolis received drizzle early morning.

During the drizzle, localities within the city faced a power outage as more than 50 K-Electric feeders reportedly tripped, cutting off electric supply to areas including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, P.I.B. Colony, Tariq Road, F.B. Area and North Karachi.

On the western side of the country, snowfall continued through the night in Ziarat, accumulating up to six inches so far.


In the north, the weather remained cold and temperatures continued to drop due to snow and rain in Chitral and its surrounding mountainous areas. Lowari Tunnel also received heavy snow throughout the night, accumulating up to 18 inches until now. Traffic remains suspended in the area, with tourists and travelers stuck on the road.

A shepherd in Rambor Valley in the Kalash area also died after he slipped on black ice and fell from one of the mountains.

Weather also remains foggy in Skardu, Gilgit, Hunza, Astore and Ghizar Valley. Lower Dir also continues to receive sporadic showers and snowfall. The dropping temperatures have brought life to a halt in these areas.

On the eastern side, clouds are taking over Rahim Yar Khan and Multan with the weather turning chilly and windy. Cool weather is also being reported from Haroonabad, Bahawalnagar and its surrounding areas as chilly winds make their rounds in the area.
