He said this while visiting the project along with senior officers of the departments concerned to review and inspect construction work of the institute, a press release issued on Saturday stated.
The minister directed the officials and the contractor to accelerate the pace of work so that kidney patients could benefit from it.
Minister calls for early completion of RIU
He added that all the resources were being utilised on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for the completion of development projects in the province.
Salman Rafique also inspected the building and monitored the civil works, provision of electricity, AC plant, construction of sub-station, pharmacy, fixation of CCTV cameras, installation of lifts, telephone exchange, etc.

He reviewed the completion work in detail and said that he would monitor construction and completion work of the project through video link on weekly basis.
The minister maintained that the RIU would provide all medical and surgical facilities to urology & kidney patients.
On the occasion, the officials briefed the minister about the construction details of the health facility.
They said the treatment as well as kidney transplant facilities would be provided in 265-bed hospital of the urology unit.
