BAHAWALPUR:
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan challenged his arch rival Nawaz Sharif to hold public gatherings one after another and see who brings a larger crowd.

The PTI supremo was addressing a public gathering in Lodhran despite an order by the Election Commission of Pakistan barring him from doing so.

Imran said, “I challenge Nawaz Sharif to do a “Jalsa” (public gathering) in any part of the country and on the next day I will address a public gathering and we will witness who pulls off a bigger crowd.”

The PTI chairman claimed that under Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif the police murdered 870 people. He added, “He [Shehbaz Sharif] is not a servant of people (Khadim e Aala) but a murderer.” He also informed the people that he will request the Supreme Court to form an investigation commission to investigate the ‘murders committed’ during the regime of Shehbaz Sharif.

Nawaz Sharif thinks an elected PM is above the law: Imran Khan

Imran said, “Shehbaz Sharif should answer for the corruption of billions in the Multan Metro Project.” He added that he was not doing politics but striving against the cruel people.

The PTI chief said, “Supreme Court gave them [Sharifs] time and now NAB (National Accountability Bureau) is giving them time.”

Imran also criticised the statements of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif against the judiciary, saying, “when court asked him about the money trail then he brought a Qatri Letter and if he had done this in England then he would have been locked in Jail for it.” He added that the time for accountability has arrived.

He further said that loans are taken by the leadership but paid by the public in the form of inflation. He added that the loans which have been taken by the regime of Nawaz Sharif have no parallel anywhere in the world.

Imran escapes disqualification, Tareen ineligible for public office

The PTI chief also compared the Punjab and Khyber-Paktunkhwa (K-P) police by saying that the people of K-P trust the police and consider them their guardian because it does not kill on the whims of the chief minister. He alleged that the Punjab olice kills on the orders of the Chief Minister and people witnessed it live on TV during the Model Town incident where Punjab police was killing innocent unarmed people. He also said that the K-P police arrested the murderer of Asma in Mardan through a speck of blood.

Former MNA of the area Jahangir Khan Tareen, in his address, said that Lodhran gave him respect and is known to the whole world because of him.

The former PTI secretary general said that the Supreme Court gave the disqualification verdict against him and he accepted that even though hid did not do any corruption, tax evasion or money laundering and submitted each receipt in the court. He added that the court only disqualified him because he showed properties in the papers of his children and not in his own documents. He clarified that he did that only because his tax lawyer advised him.

Accept my challenge Nawaz Sharif: Imran Khan

On the other hand, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Ali Tareen is an educated youth and there is no better candidate than him and people of Lodhran will make him successful on February 12 by voting on the Bat. He told the people that they should test the PTI now as they have seen the government of both the Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.
