The degrees were awarded to successful students in various degree programmes, while gold medals and merit certificates were also awarded to outstanding graduates. Parents, members of faculty, eminent personalities from the academia, corporate and public sector attended the event.
On the occasion, Virtual University Rector Dr Naveed Malik welcomed all the guests and thanked participants for gracing the auspicious event with their presence.
He also highlighted the achievements of the university, its leading role in delivering information and communication technology based education and contribution in the provision of quality education even in remote areas of the country.
He said VU was promoting research culture among its students. He added that three international conferences had been arranged last year, while a fully equipped mobile laboratory project for students of life sciences was underway that will provide lab facility to them across Pakistan.
Malik maintained that Virtual University achieved another milestone by winning the DigiSkills Training Project that was designed to train one million people in Pakistan.
