“JIT was a plot against Pakistan and those [five judges’ bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan] who ousted Nawaz Sharif, were controversial,” Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) National Assembly Member and Nawaz’s son-in-law Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar stated while addressing a gathering during his visit to check preparations for the party’s rally in the provincial capital which is scheduled to be held on February 4.
New reference contradicts last one, says Nawaz’s counsel
He claimed that the nation was still standing by Nawaz but all had conspired against the State. Safdar added that state institutions had lost their glory themselves, noting that Chaudhry Iftikhar [former chief justice of Pakistan] was gone but his ‘tradition’ was alive.
The PML-N lawmaker stated that the country was ruled by dictators for 33 years and its prime ministers’ had always faced injustice in a reference to how Nawaz has managed to complete none of his three terms in office.
Taking a swipe at his party’s main political rival, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Safdar said that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) had the potential to produce enough electricity that it could be exported to other countries.
New reference contradicts last one, says Nawaz’s counsel
“They [PTI] leadership was dancing on containers while militants were killing innocent children at the Army Public School (APS),” the PML-N leader claimed.
While talking to the media, PML-N provincial president and advisor to the prime minister Ameer Muqam stated that K-P’s residents have always been politically aware.
“You [PTI] should not think K-P will vote for you again,” he told media people as he criticised the provincial government’s decision to increase salaries of government officials with elections just around the corner.
