A two-day women employability and job fair was held at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University in Laram on Wednesday.

Representatives from around 25 companies participated in the event. They will be conducting interviews of prospective candidates on the second day of the event.
Minister for Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani inaugurated the event.
During the fair, SWBBU also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA). Under the agreement, the varsity will take over the Women Business Development Centre (WBDC) of SMEDA.
The WBDC is an incubation centre and was acquired for facilitating graduates of the university for launching their own startups.
SWBBU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Razia Sultana and Chairman SMEDA Javed Khattak signed the MoU.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Sultana said the youth in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) were talented and the institutions need to channelise their energies.
She said no government can provide jobs to all the youth of the country, adding that it was the responsibility of universities to train students for self-employment.
“We are going to have a great job market in K-P as it would be the hub of various projects being launched under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in near future,” she added.
