Inferno: Oil tanker, KPT launch catch fire

Police say they have yet to ascertain the cause of the fire.

KARACHI: An oil tanker caught fire on the Super Highway near the Link Road on Wednesday. A fire truck reached the site and was able to get the flames under control.

The tanker had 40,000 litres of furnace oil, which was destroyed. The police said that they have yet to ascertain the cause.

Separately, a fire broke out on a launch at the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) fisheries. KPT and city government workers were able to control the flames after half an hour.
