Promoting safety: Training course for instructors commences

Trained instructors could play a crucial role in promotion of safety culture in communities

LAHORE: A training course for community instructors started at the Punjab Emergency Services (PES) Academy in Lahore on Monday. The five-day training programme, “Training for Instructors-CADRE Instructors Workshop (TFI-CIW)” had been arranged for 24 rescue and safety officers from all-over Punjab.

While speaking at the opening ceremony, PES Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer said that Rescue-1122 was committed to establishing Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) at union council level, train them to respond in an organised manner, deploy all CERTs to promote safety, which was possible through instructor development course.

He added trained instructors could play a crucial role in promotion of safety culture in communities.

Meanwhile, in the first session, 24 participants had been selected for the training course. They would be imparted training on communication and platform skills etc.
