NAB Lahore has sent notices to Shehbaz, seeking details of his assets and also asked him to submit details of the funds that were spent in constructing Raiwind Road.
The accountability watchdog has ordered the CM to submit these details before an investigation team till January 29. The team will review the details before proceeding further.
NAB to probe into Pakistan Steel Mills downfall
Last week, NAB sent notices to Shehbaz to appear in person in connection with Ashiyan-e-Iqbal Housing Scheme. According to the notice, NAB while conducting inquiry into the housing project found that huge loss to national exchequer was caused by the orders of Shehbaz as the chief minister.
His orders were allegedly ‘without lawful authority’ and in sheer violation of the laid down procedures for functioning of the Punjab Land Development Company (PLDC). NAB had claimed that the CM had unlawfully assumed functions of the PLDC board.
Shehbaz appeared before NAB team on January 22 and answered their queries. The CM had later criticized NAB in a press conference and alleged that these summons were based on mala fide intentions.
