Major strike may lead to petrol shortage

KARACHI: The All Pakistan Oil Tankers Association strike against the hike of Petroleum prices affected oil supply across the country, on Wednesday.

Sources have said petrol stations in Karachi will be closed tomorrow and the strike may spread to other parts of the country.

Oil supply has been badly affected all across the country including petrol pumps, power generating plants and other important installations.

Power houses supplying electricity to the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) have been shut down due to the suspension of oil supply in the city. The KESC receives 225 megawatts of electricity from these power houses.

Company officials have appealed to the government to intervene in the matter, fearing severe problems for the KESC.
