Yemen seeks student spots at UET

With the country ravaged by a civil war, Yemen’s envoy to Pakistan hopes students from his native land can find educational opportunities at a Peshawar varsity.

Yemen’s Ambassador to Pakistan Mohammed Motahar Alashabi visited University of Engineering Technology (UET) in Peshawar on Tuesday and met with Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iftikhar Hussain and other senior faculty members.

Alashabi and Education Advisor Yousaf Almas were briefed on the degree programmes offered at the varsity and delineate of the benefits for Yemeni students at UET Peshawar.

Admissions Director Dr Misbah Ullah briefed the ambassador on issues related to the admissions process for foreign students.

Alashabi appreciated UET’s mission of bringing both countries together for joint efforts of development. He welcomed the opportunities offered by UET Peshawar and hoped that more Yemeni youngsters could gain access to such specialised institutions in the future. The envoy also met with graduating students from Yemen.
