Graduating doctors: ‘Serving humanity should be your core aim’

Mandatory for health professionals to maintain high moral and professional standards

PESHAWAR: Those associated with medical sciences should make services to the ailing humanity their core aim and play their role in developing the nation.

This was stated by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engr. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra while addressing a convocation at the Khyber Medical College of Peshawar University on Monday. As many as 500 passed out on this occasion, 29 were honoured with gold medals for achieving distinctive positions.

Terming institutions of higher learning as centres of excellence in conducting research and disseminating knowledge, the governor said that there was a need to further promote research activities. Highlighting the importance of the health profession, Jhagra said, it was mandatory for health professionals to maintain high moral and professional standards to enhance their professional knowledge and skills.
