According to a statement, Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has banned special smoking corners established at various hotels and restaurants.
The PFA in its twenty sixth board meeting unanimously approved Smoking Corner's Regulation. Punjab Assembly’s Standing Committee on Food Chairman Amir Hayat Heraj presided the meeting, whereas PHA Director General PHA Noorul Amin Mengal presented the ruling to the board.
According to the regulation, special places for smoking in restaurants and hotels would be abolished and "Smoking is prohibited" note to be marked in bold letters at eating places.
