The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is spending Rs540 million on the housing sector during the current fiscal year.

A spokesman of the provincial government speaking to Radio Pakistan said it includes seven ongoing and nine new housing schemes.

Under Khpal Kor (My Own Home) scheme, small houses are being constructed for low income government servants and poor people across the province. Around 1,755 kanals land will be acquired for the housing scheme in Hangu.

In Swat, 1,500 kanals of land will also be acquired for this purpose. Similarly, designs are being prepared for construction of apartments and a shopping mall on Warsak Road Peshawar.
