"Apparently, it was an attempt of robbery or car snatching," said Korangi SHO Khalid Abbasi. "But, the culprits had no idea about a police guard sitting inside Saad’s car."
The driver was on the driving seat, while the police guard was sitting next to him and Saad at on the back seat of his Corolla car.
Following the incident, an extra contingent of law enforcers immediately reached the crime scene and inquired about the incident.
Police officials said that armed men on a motorcycle opened fire on Saad's car near Vita Chowrangi in Korangi Industrial Area.
However, the suspects fled the scene due to retaliatory fire from the security guard.
Police officials said that Saad was on his way to office when the unidentified motorcyclists shot at his car.

Saad was signalled to stop his car by the assailants, but he did not stop after which they opened fire at his vehicle.
An exchange of fire between Saad's guards and the culprits took place. However, the attackers escaped unhurt.
Saad works as a project manager at a private firm. SHO Abbasi said that at least three men riding a motorcycle fired at the vehicle. A case of the incident has yet to be registered.

Ashiq Hussain, an eye witness, said that the incident took place at around 9:40am, adding that at least three armed motorcyclists were involved in the incident. "I used to run a loading Suzuki. I was sitting at a roadside teashop when armed motorcyclists opened indiscriminate fire, causing fear and panic," he narrated. "One of the armed men fell on the road and his comrades reached to rescue him when we attempted to catch him."
On June 21, 2016, the son of Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah was abducted by unidentified men. Owais Ali Shah, a high court lawyer, left the SHC for Clifton and was kidnapped.
However, Shah was reunited with his family 29 days after his kidnapping from a shopping centre in Clifton.
