12 milk sellers held for adulteration

Civil administration’s crackdown on food outlets continues

PESHAWAR: The district administration in collaboration with Livestock Department conducted raids in different parts of the city and go 12 milk sellers arrested by the police for adulteration.

On the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Islam Zaib, the Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Salahuddin Khan and officers of Livestock Department along with mobile milk testing laboratory checked sellers in Tehkal, Jehangirabad and University Road.

During the checking the joint team checked the samples of milk and arrested 12 milk sellers for proving adulteration of sufficient water in their products.

Thousands of litres of contaminated milk dumped

The DC has directed all additional assistant commissioners for collecting samples from milk sellers on regular basis to send them to laboratory for analysis and free Peshawar of the adulterated milk.

Meanwhile, the teams of the district administration also conducted raids on various restaurants and arrested the managers of Shinwari Restaurant, Jamal Restaurant and New Shinwari Restaurant for poor cleanliness conditions.

The teams of the district administration checked the kitchens of these restaurants and expressed anguish over poor cleanliness conditions.

Earlier, the district administration had ordered the police to arrest 38 shopkeepers and managers of various food outlets on different accounts in the provincial capital.

These people were penalised for unhygienic conditions in the kitchens and encroachment.
