River Ravi: Body of 20-year-old recovered

LAHORE: Body of a 20-year-old woman was recovered from River Ravi in Shahdara Police limits on Monday. A passerby spotted the body and informed police. The divers of Rescue 1122 reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. After a little effort, they fished out the body and shifted it to a morgue. Police said that the girl belonged to a middle class family. The body had no obvious marks of torture, they added. SHO Sohail Kazmi told The Express Tribune that the identity of the woman and the cause of her death were yet to be ascertained. “Circumstantial evidences suggest that it was not a murder,” he said. However, autopsy and further investigations would help ascertain the cause of her death, he added.
