A security guard raped a woman patient at the government-run Allied Hospital in Faislabad late on Sunday night, Express News reported.

According to sources, the woman (SH), resident of Jhumra, arrived in the hospital at night where the security guard raped her. The victim in her statement said that ‘guard deceitfully took her to the backside of the burns ward where he sexually abused her with the help of an accomplice.

Meanwhile, the Medical University vice chancellor set-up a six-member committee to investigate into the matter.

In a bid to suppress the deplorable act, the police 'described' the victim as 'mentally-challenged'.

SHO Civil Lines while talking to Express News said, "We have investigated the matter and the woman appears to be mentally-ill."
