FAISALABAD: Faisalabad consumers would soon get meter readings on their registered mobile numbers via SMS, said Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) CEO Mujahid Islam Billah on Saturday. He told APP that meter readers would send the number of units consumed to every registered mobile phone number through SMS, adding that in case of a mistake the consumer can lodge a complaint with FESCO for a correction. He said formal action would also be initiated against meter readers over faulty readings. The CEO said that consumers may register complaints against unscheduled power load-shedding in their respective areas. Islam said the company was taking measures to facilitate its consumers as electricity transformers are being provided by FESCO on purchasing rates. He observed that due to improved living standards, the use of high-power appliances has increased, which requires heavy capacity transformers.
