Another missile fired at Mohmand from Afghanistan

Political administration says, no loss of life or property reported

SHABQADAR: Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Mohmand Agency remained tense on Friday as another missile from across the border struck the Alingar Safi area. This is the second missile attack in two days.

The political administration confirmed that attack, but said no loss of life or property was reported.

However, it said that in a related happening, a security vehicle – which was on its way to inspect the damage done by the missile strike – hit an IED resulting in injuries to a security person, who was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Later, the security personnel cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. However, there were no arrests till the filing of this report.

Security was heightened across the tribal agency at all venues of Friday prayers as well as on all entry and exits points of the agency. All vehicles passing through these points were being checked to ensure safety in the agency.

Officials of the political administration visited all sensitive posts in Safi and advised Levies and Khasadar personnel to be extra vigilant.

On Thursday also, a missile had struck Mamad Kor Khwaizai area in the agency.
