PPP MPA Sardar Ahmed Ali Pitafi passes away

Pitafi, who was chieftain of his tribe, had also served as the PPP’s Ghotki division president

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA Sardar Ahmed Ali Pitafi passed away on Friday at the age of 76. He had been admitted at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre in Karachi for the past few days.

According to sources close to the family, Pitafi will be laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in Mirpur Mathelo, Ghotki today (Saturday). Pitafi was very vocal against party policy and always criticised his government's policy in the Sindh Assembly.

He won the provincial assembly seat from PS-7 Ghotki for the fourth time during the last general elections in 2013. Pitafi, who was chieftain of his tribe, had also served as the PPP’s Ghotki division president. Party leaders lauded his services for the party and offered prayers for him.
