Illegal gas decanting: 109 shopkeepers booked in 2017

FAISALABAD:
The civil defense department teams registered cases against 109 shopkeepers and issued notices to 271 on the charge of decanting of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) illegally during 2017.

Civil Defense Officer Rana Muhammad Abbas said that civil defense teams also issued 454 challans and served 795 notices on non-implementation of fire safety laws.

He said that installation of 3732 walk-through gates at different events were ensured during 2017 besides holding 59 mock exercises and technical sweeping of 3,505 places.


He added that battery remote control kit, water gell, hand grenade lower portion, hand grenade upper portion, unknown black powder and explosive material were also dumped.

Abbas maintained that civil defense department imparted training to 7,492 people, including 3,726 students, 2,735 officials of commercial units, 507 officials of hospitals and government departments and 524 volunteers of civil defense department.

He said that two new warden posts in the district were also established in the year 2017.
