KARACHI: A judicial magistrate of Malir accepted on Wednesday the relief application of Shahrukh Jatoi, the prime suspect in the Shahzeb Khan murder case, and his brother Nawab Jatoi in a forgery case.

The case pertains to allegations that after Shahzeb's murder, Shahrukh tried to flee abroad with the help of fake documents. The brothers were exempted from appearing in one hearing of the case by the magistrate.

The court, however, summoned Shahrukh and Nawab on the next hearing. The court also ordered the police to arrest Umar Dochki and Abu Bakr Dochki, the travel agents who allegedly helped Shahrukh to escape, for their failure to appear in the hearing.

The brothers' counsel informed the court that his clients could not attend the hearing owing to the death of a relative. "They will be present at the next hearing," he said, requesting the court to pardon their absence. The court accepted the relief application and summoned the accused in the next hearing.

Former Bilawal House protocol officer Sohail Ahmed and PIA officer Mehmood Sultan are also nominated in the FIR of the case along with Shahrukh, Nawab, Umar and Abu Bakr.
