Zubair said that journalists from 36 different countries will be participating in the conference, which will promote a positive image of Pakistan internationally. “Different events such as international scout tournament, international film festival and international media conference are being organised in Karachi to prove that the law and order situation has improved,” he said.
The governor said that before 2013, the law and order situation was terrible in Karachi and other parts of the country so the credit goes to the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz government which took bold steps to resolve this issue. “When we came to power political, social and economic activities were at a standstill in Karachi and the federal government started consultation with different stakeholders to kick-start operations in the city,” he said.
10th International Urdu Conference kicks off
Zubair added that after numerous targeted operations, terrorists, kidnappers, extortionists and land grabbers were killed by the police and Rangers allowing citizens to breathe a sigh of relief. Shah called the media conference an extraordinary effort. Akhtar also lauded the efforts to initiate such events in the city saying, “We will decorate Karachi with different banners to welcome our guests.”
