Minutes after a court in Islamabad approved the pre-arrest bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan in all four terrorism cases linked to the 2014 sit-in, he took to Twitter on Tuesday to make a Bollywood movie-inspired statement that "My name is Khan and I am not a terrorist".

Referring to the December 15 verdict of the Supreme Court in his disqualification case, he said the apex court had already pronounced him ‘Sadiq and Ameen’ (honest and trustworthy) and announced that he was "coming after them crooks" now.

ATC approves Imran's bail application in all four cases

The PTI chief also addressed a press conference after the verdict, saying he was indeed a ladla (darling) of the law but only because he abide by it, in an apparent jibe at the political rivals of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) especially Maryam Nawaz, who used that term for Imran in her tweet.

“If ladla is not going to get bailed out then who will?” she taunted after the ATC verdict.

Nawaz Sharif could not have withstood half of the scrutiny that he had went through, said Imran, referring to the disqualification trial against him last year in which he was acquitted by the Supreme Court.

The PTI chief said that cases had only been lodged against him because he was after the Sharif family.
