Collaboration: Turkish company signs MoU with PHA, Wasa

Initiatives are part of government’s efforts to make Punjab a role model for other provinces

LAHORE: Turkish and Punjab’s institutions signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) in different fields on Saturday. The initiatives were part of the government’s efforts to make Punjab a role model for other provinces by learning from the experiences of Turkey.

The MOUs were signed upon the arrival of a 12-member delegation from Turkey, consisting senior officials and representatives of the Turkish government. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Punjab Local Government Minister Muhammad Manshaullah Butt, Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Khawaja Ahmed Hassan, Lahore Mayor Col (retd) Mubashar Javed, Wasa chairman, PHA DG and other senior officials.

Turk company ISKI and Wasa signed an MOU to improve the clean drinking water supply system. ISKI representative Salami Taseer and Provincial Housing secretary singed the MOU on behalf of their respective sides.

The second MOU was signed by Istanbul Parks and Horticulture Head Fatima Kohan and Punjab PHA Additional DG Naheed Gul Baloch from their respective sides.

Punjab Local Government and Community Development Minister Mansha Ullah, speaking on the occasion, highlighted the projects being completed in Punjab with Turkish cooperation.

He also thanked the government and people of Turkey for their services to Pakistan. He said that Turkey had emerged as a strong leader in the Muslim world. The minister also assured all out cooperation from Punjab and expressed hope that both the sides would enhance their cooperation in future.
