Multan imposes ban on dangerous swings in all parks

MULTAN: Multan Deputy Commissioner Nadir Chhathahas imposed a ban on dangerous swings in all parks of the city on the New Year eve.

Presiding over a meeting, held to review security arrangements on Saturday, Nadir directed all assistant commissioners to ensure foolproof security in all parks and other public places. He also directed Civil Defence administration to depute volunteers in parks to help out the public in the hour of need.

Traffic plan for Faisalabad

Similarly, City Traffic Police have released a traffic plan for the New Year eve. Acting Chief Traffic Officer Rana Muhammad Masoom said on Saturday that more than 550 traffic wardens would perform duty from 7am till late night on various roads, intersections and roundabouts, whereas 40 sector incharges and three deputy superintendents police traffic will monitor them. He said that barriers had been erected at 54 sites in the city where 226 traffic wardens will be present to arrest the wheelie doers and rashly driven vehicles. Sufficient traffic force will remain present near recreational sites, public places and shopping areas to ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic on the New Year eve, he added.

Security arrangements in Lahore

In Lahore, to avert any untoward incident, City Police have prepared a ‘comprehensive’ security plan for the occasion of New Year’s Eve.

On Thursday, the plan was formulated during a meeting chaired by Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines.

Speaking on the occasion, Wains said that at least 12,000 police officials will be deployed to ensure security on the occasion. He ordered field officers to show zero-tolerance towards wheelies and aerial firing. He also asked them to take serious action against fireworks. The CCPO asked them to enhance security arrangements around public parks and places.
