Quick response: Effective IT usage is leading to ‘smart policing’

LAHORE: Punjab Acting IGP Amjad Javed Saleemi has said that Punjab Police was utilising information technology efficiently in order to improve the situation of safety of property and lives of people.

He said that with completion of IC3 project, smart policing of street crimes, investigation, traffic management and other big challenges will get resolved with the increasing role of IT. He said that the process of modernising police work was going on for complete transfer of the system to IT.

After the transformation of  front desk, public service centres were being completed in all the districts of Punjab so that public may get benefit of facilities of police character certificates, FIR copies, driving licenses and registration of property renting under one roof.

He expressed these views while addressing the 14 member delegation of 45th common training program of Civil Services Academy at Central Police Office, Lahore
