PESHAWAR:
The Peshawar police, along with a squad from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), successfully recovered a nine-month-old infant who had allegedly been kidnapped by the household help in Hayatabad.

At least one couple was arrested in the police action.

A lady doctor, who lives in Phase III of Hayatabad, had lodged an FIR with Hayatabad police on December 26, claiming that a couple — who work as the household help at her home — had allegedly kidnapped her infant child at gunpoint.

The doctor’s husband, a deputy registrar at a private university, was not at home when the incident reportedly took place.

Police had subsequently registered an FIR and started investigations.

They managed to trace the couple to the Tehkal area of the city. A police squad raided the suspected hideout and managed to recover the child and arrest the two suspects, along with the gun used in the crime.
