Football: LUMS women defeated 2-0

KARACHI: Model Town FC progressed into the second round of the National Women Football Championship when they defeated LUMS 2-0 on penalty kicks in their Group B match in Lahore.

Sports Sciences defeated Fatima FC 3-0 in the other match to qualify for the next round.

Sumera Parveen scored for Sports Sciences in the 46th minute, while Iqra doubled the lead seven minutes later and Samia sealed the victory in the 56th minute.

The Group B matches concluded yesterday.

Model Town FC and Sports Sciences have joined Group A’s Diya FC and Karachi Club along with Group C’s Margalla FC and Young Rising Stars FC Rawalpindi in the second round.
