COAS visits church in Rawalpindi, attends Christmas festivities

General Qamar acknowledges services of Christian community during his visit to Christ Church

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa joined the Christian community at the Christ Church in Rawalpindi in Christmas celebrations on Monday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

At this occasion, the COAS acknowledged the role of the Christian community in Pakistan's creation.

Minorities demand security of churches

He appreciated the role of various institutions in the fields of education, health and public welfare being managed and run by Christian community across Pakistan, the statement said.

The army chief also thanked the minority community for its role in the defence of Pakistan as part of its armed forces.
