LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) senior central leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar’s visit has caused a great pain in the stomachs of incompetent rulers.

Sindh excels in public health domain, says Bilawal

Speaking to the media on Sunday, Elahi said Mayo Hospital fell in the constituency of deposed premier Nawaz Sharif, but he had never visited it to inquire about the health of patients or healthcare facilities being offered by one of the biggest public hospitals of the province. Justice Nisar had the prayers of poor patients by visiting the hospital, he added. “Otherwise, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s performance was evident from the fact that he cannot provide beds and medicine to patients,” he maintained.

He highlighted that he had established a 450-bed hospital and a surgical tower during his tenure, but the present government refused to make them functional due to political rivalry with PML-Q. “Almost 10 years have passed and poor patients were facing great hardship, owing to low quality infrastructure in public hospitals,” he added.

He said that after the chief justice’s visit, poor patients were cursing rulers for their inefficiencies. He added Shehbaz Sharif was beating drums everywhere about his performance, but had practically done nothing for the people. “During his two tenures, he failed to improve health and education infrastructure in Punjab.”
