Three ‘target killers’ sent on remand

The two men were arrested by Liaquatabad Town police during a raid in the C-1 area on Wednesday.

Two alleged target killers, Irfan and Junaid, were sent to jail on a physical remand till May 3 by two separate courts on Thursday.


The accused were produced in the court of the civil and judicial magistrate, east, Zabiha Khattak, for the murder case of Super Market SHO Shafiq Tanoli’s younger brother, Naveed. They were also produced before the civil and judicial magistrate, central, Nasrullah Korai for a case on possession of illegal weapons.

The two men were arrested by Liaquatabad Town police during a raid in the C-1 area on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, another alleged target killer, Omair Khan, accused of committing murder and being involved in police encounters, was given into police custody until May 2 by two different courts.

Khan was produced before the court of the civil and judicial magistrate, west, Mohammad Afzal Roshan, for firing on a bus on route 1-D and killing two men near Metro Cinema. The civil and judicial magistrate, west, Mohammad Arif Rajput, also sent him on remand in the case of firing at the police and possession of illegal weapons.

Khan was arrested from Pirabad by the Orangi Town police, who also seized a TT pistol.
