The officials were travelling by a car from Karachi to Islamabad when their car was hit by a truck, killing three persons on the spot. DPO Rajanpur Atiq Tahir said that accident occurred due to the negligence of the truck driver.
The deceased were identified as Assistant Subedar Muhammad Aslam, Naik Havaldar Umar Ali and Hassan Ali. The injured were identified as Habibullah Shah, Toar Gull, and Sakht Ali, who were rushed to nearby Sheikh Khalifa Hospital at Shahwali by Rescue 1122 for treatment.
They were later shifted to a hospital in Rahimyar Khan where their condition was stated to be stable. The bodies of the deceased were brought to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital from where they were sent to their native town Lakki Marwat (Tank). The driver sped away after the accident. However, police impounded the vehicle.
