LAHORE: Awami Muslim League (AML) President Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that international powers are hatching conspiracies to fan insurgency in Balochistan.

“The rulers have become puppets of America and are doing nothing for the Palestinian cause,” Rashid said while addressing a conference organised by Difa-e-Pakistan Council for Tahafuz-e-Baitul Muqaddas at Istanbul Chowk on Mall Road on Sunday.

Leaders of different religious and political parties addressed the conference which was attended by a large number of people from different walks of life.

Besides Sheikh Rashid, prominent speakers included: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami head and DPC Chairman Maulana Samiul Haq, Jamaatud Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed, Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch, Milli Muslim League President Saifullah Khalid, Jamiat Ahlehadith head Hafiz Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer, senior politician Riaz Fatyana and others.

The AML chief said, “On one hand war has reached the border of Balochistan after Yemen, Libya and Syria, while on the other non-state actors are trying to malign the armed forces and judiciary.”

He urged the rulers of the Muslim world to boycott all American products and sever all diplomatic ties with it.

During the conference, the speakers jointly urged the Muslim rulers to give a call for jihad against US and Israel.

They unanimously condemned the US move to accept Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and termed Trump’s step a fresh start of another crusade against Muslims.

The speakers said Islam was the religion of peace but Trump’s move was an attack on world peace.

They said, “One-and-a-half-billion population of the world has had no word to condemn the American decision.”

Taking over the podium, Maulana Sami said, “We will fight for the Palestinian cause. Muslims of Pakistan are with their Palestinian brethren.”

Meanwhile, Hafiz Saeed demanded of the prime minister to immediately call a meeting of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Islamabad to devise a strategy against US and Israel.

He said rallies will be taken out and conferences will be organised in the coming days across the country to express solidarity with Palestine. The next conference on Baitul Muqaddas, he said, will be organised in Liaqat Bagh, Rawalpindi on December 29.

Tehreek-e-Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah chief Maulana Asif Jalali also organised a rally from Data Darbar to Mall Road.

Addressing the rally, he said, “Supporting the Baitul Muqaddas cause is the collective responsibility of the Ummah.”
