The sixth National University of Science and Technology (NUST) undergraduate and postgraduate convocation of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering was held in the capital with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) Chairman Engineer Jawed Salim Qureshi awarding degrees to successful graduates.
Degrees were awarded for Bachelors of Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Geographical Information Systems; Master of Engineering in Structural Engineering, Water Resources Engineering and Management, Geotech Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Transportation Engineering, Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, and Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System. Students who completed their Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science and in RS & GIS were also awarded degrees.
The PEC chief told graduates that they should take on the added responsibility of serving the masses since their services would be required for executing innovative and sustainable projects which address key issues such as food, water and energy security issues.
Earlier, Lt Gen (retired) Naweed Zaman congratulated the graduates on their achievements and bestowed upon them a few life lessons.
