KARACHI: Pakistan’s top business chiefs and entrepreneurs said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is not only bringing in investment but also helping improve Pakistan’s image in the region and domestic markets.

They said this while talking at the UMA-16th CEO Summit Asia 2017 held at a local hotel on Monday. Dozens of leading CEOs and executives attended the event with Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair as the chief guest.

Can CPEC cause Dutch disease?

Zubair said Pakistan is becoming an important player in the region on the back of Chinese mega investment projects which are also allowing it to integrate better with the resource-rich Central Asian countries.

Earlier, Sohail Shams, CEO of United Marine Agencies (UMA), underlined the importance of positive change, which he said is allowing Pakistan to tackle the various challenges and issues confronting it.
