LAHORE: The Punjab Healthcare Commission closed down 40 illegal treatment centres in district Muzaffargarh on Monday.

According to a press release issued by the PHC, two teams of the PHC visited 115 healthcare centres in Muzaffargarh district and allowed 75 to keep providing services. However, they were directed to get licenses from the PHC. The remaining 40 were closed down because they were being run by quacks.

The sealed centres had a large number of quacks who were posing as general physicians.

The sealed businesses were illegally functioning as dental clinics, laboratories, allopathic clinics and were unqualified to render any kind of medical services.

PHC spokesperson said the commission would be continuing its anti-quackery campaign across the province and its teams would be visiting all the districts and tehsils to end the menace in all its manifestations.
