KARACHI:

The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) announced that nine hours of load shedding will take place, daily, in residential and commercial areas across the city.

The gas supply to KESC has already dropped to around 120 mmcfd because of the annual maintenance of the Bhit gas fields, according to a KESC press release.

KESC requires 4,000 metric tons of furnace oil every day, and Pakistan State Oil is only supplying 2,000 metric tons because of the shortage. Industrial areas, which were exempted from load-shedding, will now have face 8 hours of power outages every day.
