Distant Learning: AIOU’s week-long Urdu workshop concludes

Weeklong MA Urdu workshop concludes.

ISLAMABAD: Conducted via video-conferencing, a week-long MA Urdu workshop of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) concluded on Wednesday. “The successful completion of the workshop is a milestone for the university,” said Vice-Chancellor AIOU Prof Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi, while addressing the concluding session of the workshop.

The workshop was held simultaneously in Lahore,Islamabad and Dera Gazi Khan through a video-conferencing system. The system has been set up to prevent needless travelling cost and save students’ time.

Sangi said that video-conferencing system is operational in 10 cities and will be extended to 40 cities across the country. He said students living in remote areas like Gilgit and Skardu will be provided internet facility by the government to benefit from the distance learning system. He added that CDs comprising the lectures of such workshops will be provided to participants from the next semester.
