Civilian martyred, two injured in Indian firing along LoC
A statement released by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, “The Indian army committed unprovoked ceasefire violation in Chaffar village [of] Chirikot sector on a funeral.”
“Two civilians embraced Shahadat [martyrdom] while a lady got injured,” it added.
According to the ISPR statement, the Pakistan army also retaliated in a professional manner and targeted Indian posts, killing one Indian soldier and injuring four to five more.
“The Pakistan army responded in a professional manner against Indian posts. They destroyed a post, killed one Indian soldier and injured four to five others,” said the ISPR statement.
Pakistan has repeatedly condemned increasing ceasefire violations by Indian forces due to which, several civilians have lost their lives.
Islamabad has been urging New Delhi to respect the 2003 ceasefire arrangement, investigate the incidents of ceasefire violations, instruct Indian forces to respect the ceasefire in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC. However, the violation of the truce has still been continuing.

Pakistan and India both claim Kashmir, and have fought two of their three wars over the Himalayan region, which they have disputed since partition and independence from British colonial rule in 1947.
