The verdict came in a petition filed by Mohammed Pannah Mallah in the district and sessions court in Badin in 2015. On the court's order, the former civil judge and judicial magistrate conducted a raid at the Matli police station and recovered Deedar.
Judgment: Three govt officials convicted
Subsequently, the same court heard the complainant's plea against the three former SHOs, Laung Khan Shar, Raja Naveed and Wali Muhammad Chang. However, the three police officers, who are currently posted in different districts of Sindh, obtained bail from a local court and will file an appeal in the district court against the verdict.
Deedar is reportedly affiliated with Pakistan Peoples Party's former home minister Zulfiqar Mirza. After his recovery, he told the judge that he was arrested by Pangrio police, who later handed over his custody to Badin police and then to the Matli police.
