Security official martyred in Mohmand Agency IED blast
The incident happened when the security officials were pitching water from a spring in Safi tehsil
SHABQADAR:
A security official was martyred, while another sustained injuries when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Safi tehsil of the Mohmand Agency early Friday morning.
According to sources, the blast occurred when security forces officials were pitching water from a nearby spring in Chamarkand Safi, to take to their check-post near the Pak-Afghan border.

Officer Noor Ayaz Khan was martyred on the spot while his companion Samiullah sustained injuries as a result of the blast. The local political administration confirmed incident as a terrorist attack.
The body of the martyr and the injured were shifted to a local hospital where Samiullah’s condition is said to be in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the security forces cordoned off the area and started a search operation. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Pakistan has been battling a militant insurgency since shortly after it decided to ally with the US following its invasion of Afghanistan in 2001.
