The CM issued the directive while presiding over a meeting at CM House on Thursday. The meeting was attended by Works and Services Minister Imdad Pitafi, Planning and Development Board Chairperson Mohammad Waseem, Principal Secretary to CM Sohail Rajput, Finance Secretary Hassan Naqvi, Work and Services Secretary Aijaz Memon and other officers.
The Planning and Development Board chairperson was directed to review release and utilisation of funds, pace of work and quality of work for every road scheme in the province. "I want you to start inspection of the roads and buildings being constructed under different programmes and give me the report," the CM said.

The work and services department has been working on 488 road schemes of which 92 are new schemes. The approved cost of the schemes is Rs25.77 billion against which the government has so far released Rs15.2 billion. The total expense incurred in the schemes up till now has been recorded at around Rs7 billion. It is estimated that by the end of the ongoing fiscal year, 330 kilometres of roads would be completed.
There are eight ongoing building schemes in the province for which Rs228 million has been allocated and Rs65.4 million has been released.
The works and services minister told the CM that 41 road schemes would be completed by June 2018. He added that nine schemes were completed in October this year, including widening of Hala-Shahdadpur-Sanghar road at a cost of Rs700.13 million, reconstruction of the road from Yousif Dahri Mori regulator to Bandhi Manhoro road in Shaheed Benazirabad at Rs264.02 million, renovation of the road from Matiari to Allah Dino Sand at Rs338.77 million, repair of the road from Ruk to Lakhi at Rs80.97 million, reconditioning of the road from the Paljiani Station to Tando Jam via Shahpur at Rs198.67 million and others.

Pitafi informed Shah that 13 road schemes would be completed by December 2017. These roads include the road from Mataro Kario Ganhwar to Kharwah in Badin at the cost of Rs622.04 million, Rs728.19 million scheme of Tando Allahyar-Tando Adam Road, Rs197.06 million scheme of the road from Deh 170 to Tando Jan Mohammad in Mirpurkhas, Rs358.55 million scheme of Samaro Jhudo road and others.
Shah directed the relevant departments to meet the deadline for the completion of the 13 roads.
